It's our time...the philosophy

The Andover Vision is an ambitious and very exciting 20 year plan to improve the North West Hampshire town of Andover.

In every generation we have an opportunity presented to us to enhance our society, a chance to improve our surroundings and to bring everyone the benefits of a rewarding life. Andover stands on the brink of an exciting future, it’s our time, so we have launched the Andover Vision, our plan for a more prosperous, a more entertaining and a more inclusive Andover, with a bright future for all of us.

It is our sincere hope that, in time, Andover Vision will have captured the ambitions and wishes of our whole community and that it will inspire each of us, so that we can all participate in building a better future for ourselves and for our children.

Sue Sheppard was appointed Andover Vision Manager in March 2007 and comments "the Vision is an ambitious and very exciting 20 year plan to improve the town we all live in."

"It's about addressing immediate shortfalls in our leisure provision, as seen with the highly successful Lights Theatre and most recently the new cinema. It's important to improve our town centre and its facilities, raise academic achievement and create a thriving, aspirational and beautiful place to live."

I feel honoured to be in a position to help realise this vision and it is my number one priority to enagage all of our local community in contributing to and creating this blueprint over the next few years.  Buildings shape our town centres, facilities enhance our lives, plans inspire and motivate us but it is the people that give a town its spirit and identity."
